Stoumont, Belgium. 12 Km East of Liege and Meuse River. From here to Tipperary, guys!!!. It was the Peiper´s words to american prisoners the first day of the Battle of Bulge. The last German offensive is in progress. The Kampfgruppe Peiper has got a deep penetration in the American lines. Now the Peiper´s group is 60 Km behind their initial position, and after the initial surprise, the American forces were reorganising an imminent counterattack. The scenario shows the last situation of German advance, when the panzergrenadiers find a strong allied force trying to stop them near a little group of villages on the Ambleve riverside. Despite the great power of the German units formed with Panther and Tiger II tanks, the lack of supply had forced Peiper to a last movement to reach the Meuse River. The final story is well known for everybody. Can you help Peiper to advance until your objective?. On the other hand: Could you stop the Tigers?. The US army is formed for elements of 740th Tank Battalion, 823rd Tank-destroyer Battalion, 504th Airbone Regiment, 105th Engineers Combat Battalion, 117th and 119th Infantry Regiments. The Kampfgruppe Peiper was formed for two tank battalions with Panthers, Panzer IV and Tigers II, supported for a panzergrenadier battalion of II PzGr Rgt , two engineer companies, elements of 9th Fallschirmjaeger Regiment and selfpropeler artillery units. Good luck...

This scene pretends to be a historical scenario dealing with KG Peiper, but it fails miserably on two critical points: the designer has placed substantial German forces north of the Ambleve and west of Stavelot at the start of the scene, and on the map, has created a large, artificial gap in the Salm River. Anyone even casually familiar with the battle will be immediately taken aback by the gross errors. As a result, the battle plays NOTHING like the historical events. Call it what it is: pure hypothetical and fantasy.

German Tigers vs. American Hellcats and engineers. Pure power.

Interesting scenario - both sides - especially the Americans, have a lot of firepower available to them. Artillery and infantry amounts felt right. Only thing missing was the length of the scen - 15 turns is not nearly enough for a map this size, or for formations of this size. It was a tough fight for me - I only captured one town, Stavelot, and won by attrition. Being defensive helped me out tremendously. What little adventurism I tried cost me good armor.
Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy.

If the American engineers blown the crucial bridges, the Germans have very small chance at victory. They must destroy as many American units as possible to run up their points.
