German units have reached the Dutch main resistance line, the "Grebbelinie". They planned to break trough the line in this particular section, because there were no inundations in front of the Grebbeberg as there were in front of the rest of the line. Orchards and fields provided excellent cover for the Germans. It was too exspensive to remove them. After a courageous fight the line stood only a few days. The names of the Dutch commanders are the names of the original ones.
