This scenario assumes that the French never constructed the Maginot Line and instead concentrated on building up their conventional forces. Meanwhile, Germany expanded the size of its military forces to a much greater extent. War breaks out as it did, but this time a much stronger Germany immediately launches an offensive in the west. This depicts a hypothetical meeting engagement between a reinforced French mountain division and a German infantry and mountain division in hilly terrain overlooking a river valley near the Franco-German border in the autumn of 1939. A large scale infantry battle reminiscent of the early stages of World War I before trench warfare set in. Will the French stand firm in the face of the German advance as General Ferdinand Foch and his XX Corps did behind the River Meurthe on the high ground of the Grand Couronne de Nancy on the Lorraine Front in August 1914?

So what went wrong and what are the major problems with this scenario?
1. The allies have a shorter distance to travel they arrived first to the high ground with a vantage point over most of the map where the Germans must move get to the battle line. The terrain where the Germans advance has only a few places to hide, while attempting to get troops on the front. Also the Germans have 20 smoke for an 80 turn scenario. way to few to block LOS as they advance.
As you would expect, Allies were able to use their numerous artillery pieces to decimate the advancing Germans. Once on the line, artillery kept falling disrupting most of the advancing Germans and the high terrain advantage made it so difficult for the Germans to advance.
2. By turn 22 I had 782 casualties to the Allies 262. Which gave the allies 3198 points. For me (as the German player) bringing down the points to 1000 (minor Loss) was no longer reachable. Eventually, the Germans will break through but they will never be able to gain back enough points to make it even a minor losss.
So I suggest a revamp of this scenario to better balance play.
