Heavy Metal Thunder (Showdown revised) - Best played vs. Human Opponent. Hypothetical late war battle to secure river bridges. Remake of the scene Showdown. Features modified map to enhance strategic options. Both sides have heavy hitting armor arriving after the initial infantry engagements. Units include Achilles, M26, Panther F, and JgPz VI. Quite a free-for-all.

This one can be played many, many ways.

Very interesting game. Many tactical possibilitys for both sides.

I don't see what players find interesting about this scenario.

Good game, lots of neat kit for both side and attack and defense options for each player

scenario never plays out the same. One of my favorites.

Pros: Map and terrain provides lots of opportunities for both offensive and defensive operations. Very mobile and fluid situation. Exciting scenario as long as players are willing to overlook historical inaccuracies and strange OOBs. \r\n\r\nCons: Strange initial deployment of Allied units. A few VPs are throwaways for the Allies and are impossible to defend. Had to spend 1 turn redeploying units that should have been in more logical starting hexes. The piecemeal reinforcement schedule of 1 platoon instead of the usual company sized formations arriving on the battlefield, is not historically accurate. Leaders traveling alone and not initially attached to any combat units does not make sense. No ranks on the leaders. German OOB appears to have an abundance of tracked and wheeled transport. In late March 1945, the time of this scenario, the Germans were suffering from a severe shortage of fuel and even in the earlier years of WW2, never had an abundance of half tracks and transport as depicted in this game.\r\n\r\nScenario is unrealistic from a historical perspective. scenario. \r\n

I have played both sides and have never found a scenario with more possibilities. It is my favorite scenario.
