[ This scenario is built for Blitzkrieg's West Front Expansion ] Greece, 7 April 1941. Flanked by the 5 Gebirgsjäger division and 71 Infanterie division, the independent 125. Infanterie regiment was ordered to attack the Greek fortified positions of Rupel-Usita. The Greek 14 infantry division was relying on a series of strongpoints and forts to defend the enemy from advancing further south toward the mainland. On 0530 a heavy artillery bombardment started that lasted one and a half hours. Then came the Stuka's! After this hailstorm of fire and steel, no Greek defenders would be alive. At least that was what the Germans hoped! When the german soldiers advanced on the fortified positions, they were met by murderous fire. The fighting continued well into the night, but still the Greeks held on to their positions. The attack recommenced on April 8 and again, the German losses were high. Only on the 9th did they succeed of infiltrating the main positions and forced the Greeks to surrender. But even then their praise was high. Right after the surrender, Oberst Bottcher, the regimental commander, visited the commander of the garrison and offered his felicitations to the brave and heroic defense of the garrison.
