Best played as Axis - optional armor facing on. Thwarted by bridge demolitions and plagued by lack of fuel, Kampfgruppe Peiper reaches La Gleize. There it halts, waiting for reinforcement and supplies. But with its supply routes already cut and Task Forces from the US 3rd Armored Division with infantry support closing in, prospects are bleak. Historically Peiper received only very limited re-supply by air and was forced to withdraw on foot, leaving all heavy weapons behind. This scenario assumes some supplies get through and Peiper decides to hold La Gleize. Lack of fuel is reflected by most vehicles being fixed (but released as time goes on and supplies arrive). Placement of German units is roughly based on the positions in which they were abandoned as shown in 'The Battle of the Bulge - Then and Now' by Jean Paul Pallud, although the map is far from accurate. The unit strengths are an experiment, being set to 1 for all tanks and infantry units, with the intention of getting more of a quick-fire shootout with faster unit attrition.
