Offensive in Caruso Valley - The Matrix Games version of West Front

Italian Front, November 1943. The torturous advance up the Italian peninsula after Salerno was grinding to a halt. Winter was approaching. Cold, rain, mud and to make matters worse, Major Trent and his 66th Tank Battalion were assigned to a Free French Morrocan regiment to attack and clear the small Caruso valley of the battered remants of the German 131st Grenadier Regiment. The Germans have had ample time to get well dug-in, and made up for their meagre numbers with numerous mine fields, bunkers and AT guns. Even though the skies cleared enough for ample air support and there was plenty of arty, Major Trent knew this was not going to be a good day...
