Hello Gentlemen:

UPDATED 2018

This is the entire Operation Cobra, the Yank breakout from Normandy. If you want your chance to be Patton and ride wild over Western France this is your scenario.

You'll earn it, the Panzer Lehr and 2nd SS are ready for action. St Lo is St Lo and taking it will be a key to this meatgrinder.

Enjoy,

Dan

I know that Dan will tweak our test results based upon the results - having said this - this scenario is one hell of a challenge! Both sides are presented with multiple options and heavy mix of units. Great Fun!

DEFINITELY Steven.
As a result of our testing it's now a superior product.
The left side (south/west) German player is still behind the 8 ball.

Huge scenario and a lot of fun played from Allied side, but I appreciate it may feel different for Axis player.
I think victory conditions need tweaking to give Axis a fighting chance to this otherwise very interesting battle setup.

Great for those big scene players...definitely need and hour or two to knock off a turn.

Winnable by either side. What more can you ask of a scenario?

Axis can win this game, but only with a true rear guard strategy throughout...if you stand and fight, the Allies will overwhelm you in every sector. Also need to blow bridges strategically to buy time and re-position. Very enjoyable as strategic challenge for Axis players.

Hello All:

Cobra was NOT a fair fight.
The German HAS to give ground.
Historically even more so than the version I created here.

The map is gynormous (ginourmis?) so some may miss the overall pattern.

Those allied bridge strikes that are labeled in the scenario...taken as a group function as "do not pass" line for the Germans.
The Allieds blew those bridges to prevent the Germans reinforcements from flanking the breakout.
The breakout was so rapid, two days later they were sorry they did, and they ended up putting in pontoons and such to cross.

Regards,

Dan
