In the eraly hours the Germans launched a surprise attack into the heart of the Dutch defenses. General Kurt Stundent's 7th Flieger Division landed with one regiment on the Isle of Dordrecht to capture the bridges of Dordrecht and Moerdijk, leading right to the heart of Fortress Holland. His mission was to hold these bridges untill relieved by the 7th Panzer Division.
