General O'Connor's Western Desert Force had launched "Operation Compass". What was intended as a "five-day raid" had become a major offensive. The Italian 10th Army under General Guidi was crumbling. By the 10th of December, the race was on for Sidi Barrani and encirclement of the Italian 4th Blackshirt Division. The difficulty lay as much with the desert sand storms as with the Italian defenders. On the morning of the 10th, the 5th Brigade of the 4th Indian Division and 16th Brigade (British reserve) attacked the Italian defences. Supported by naval gun fire and tanks of the 4th Armoured Brigade, they attempted to cut-off the Italian escape routes and enter Sidi Barrani itself. (Best played as Allied with FOW)

Historically accurate WF slug-fest. Reading the excellent briefing is a must and provides some very good ideas for playing the scenario.

Good scenario. Really conveys the utter isolation of the theater, the boredom of the terrain, and how little the Italian soldier cared to be there.

Very good scenario. Depicts the vastness and boredom of the terrain, the isolation of the location, and the Italian Soldier's little desire to be in Africa.
