5th June, 1944. A hot summer mission you will never forget. Flight "Super Seven Three", consisting of four of the Allie's top generals, is shot down over Ali Bopper City in North Africa. The two C-47's crash in two seperate locations: one by the Hotel Escondido near the beach, the other by the city park above Lake Phoenix. These men are trapped and wounded deep behind enemy lines. Your mission is to escort an armored column north from Camelback Aerodrome thru the city, behind enemy lines, and rescue these generals (by whichever route you choose). The generals are considered wounded and in need of medical attention. THEY CANNOT MOVE unless fired upon!! You have 4 platoons of Royal Marine Commandos parachuting in immediately following the plane crashes. These Commandos will secure the crash sites and await transport, protecting the generals with their lives. You have a full-stength American Armored Task Force, and a mixed under-strength British Armored Task Force to initiate the rescue operation. Enemy territory consists of ALL areas North of the Camges River. Everything south of the River is controlled by the Allies. You will note that this coastal region is very heavily populated. Very Important: the Camges River is impassable except by the bridged roads. Also, the Main "Vineyards" Canal is impassable except by bridged road crossings as well. (The smaller "Orchards" Canal is passable however). You have total air superiority. You also have Naval gun support. The Axis have absolutely no artillery or air support. There are ZERO reported minefields or blockages from your spies in the city. Intelligence information shows that you will be facing approximately 30 Italian infantry platoons (including mostly Rifle Platoons, but also Bicycle, Cavalry, AT, Alpini, and MG sections). There are also approximately 9 Anti Tank guns, some of which are 88mm or better, with excellent high ground, improved positions. Nearly all of the opposition is Italian, most of which are still in their barracks (except for those manning the front lines on the River)(and the dug in AT guns). Spies have told you that the Italians have a couple of scout cars, some flak trucks, and an AT tracked vehicle. Also, the Germans have about 6 armored cars in their compound (triple-deuces, 234 Pumas, and a Kubelwagon). The Germans are also rumored to have an entire company of StuG IIIG Tank Destroyers, and a Flak Panzer (these are the only medium-to-heavy armor that the Axis have in this sector) You must get your convoy to the wounded general's crash sites, load them up, and get them to the bottom of the map west of the Aerodrome. The Italians, and scatttered Germans, will be shooting at all of your trucks and carriers because they know what your mission is. You may even have to carry these men out on your tanks ! The British Commandos will have to be loaded on British trucks, and the American generals who crashed will have to be loaded on the American carriers. You will need to ensure the survival of your trucks and carriers!! Good luck. If you allow these generals to be captured, the war will surely be lost !!!!!!!!!!!! You only have one company of tanks reinforcing (DD Tanks from the Northeast Gulf of Glenrosa).
