[Version 1.0, Best played H2H] This scenario covers the first hours of the Ardennes offensive in the sector defended by the 109th Regiment of the 28th US ID. After the German artillery barrage early in the morning of 16 December 1944 the assault companies of the 915th and 916th Regiments of the 352. Volksgrenadier Division jumped off to cross the river Our in the darkness and thick fog. The objectives of both regiments for the first day were the heights west of the Our and pushing ahead along the Sauer towards Diekirch and Ettelbrck. While the attack of the assault companies was in progress, bridges would be constructed in Gentingen and Ammeldingen by 352. Engineer battalion. GR 915 attacked quickly and on the evening of the first day of the offensive they had reached the wooded area north of Bastendorf. For GR 916 events developed more dramatically. They were pinned down on the river bank by well directed US artillery fire of the 107th and 108th FA Regiments, as well as under heavy MG fire as they tried to climb the heights and cross the fields of the "Hoesdorf plateau". It was only after GR 915 started to threaten the positions of the US artillery on December 18 that GR 916 found the opportunity to move forward. By that time GR 914 that had been in reserve, also joined the battle forcing the 109th Regiment to evacuate Diekirch on December 20. [This scenario is dedicated to the memory of Jim Puff, who helped me research this battle and who encouraged and advised me so much during my early days in scenario designing]

An excellent historical depiction of the opening day of the Battle of the Bulge in the 109th Infantry Regiment's sector. Excellent historical OB and conditions.
Panther
To the beginning the problem is the breakthrough of the first US frontline while the rest of the troops are fixed at the other side of the River.
I create and revise: Order of Battles, Table of Equipments, Weapon Values for Modern Wars (in work: DG Lebanon War 1982 - 1985, DG Falklands War and again CWE!)

The last five turns were intense close combat and heavy artillery strikes/assaults
with both sides trading buildings over and over...
Had to close my eyes when watching the replays....!!!
A good All Infantry foot soldiers scenario......
Valor
As usual great map and very detailed OOB, however I believe that scenario is strongly pro Germans. It's only a matter of time when the line is broken... Moreover it can be played only "blind" - Germans are extremely vulnerable during the crossing. 3 stars and 7 are only because I really like infantry battles :-)
JRTXX
as the Germans this was a bad scenario, in my opinion

This is a pure infantry game, in the mud and with low visibility. It lasts 25 turns on a large map. Its not for everyone, including me.
