[H2H] [HISB] The Brazilian participation in WWII has been described as "almost forgotten". Brazil, which had been cooperating with the USA in some military aspects, and had suffered losses of Brazilian flagged ships to U-boats, formally declared war on Germany and Italy on 22 August 1942. From its small armed forces, the country mobilised an infantry division and an air group (P-47 Thunderbolts) to fight in Europe. The land and air forces..the Força Expedicionária Brasileira (FEB)... were equipped and organised to US standards, and totalled some 25000 men under the command of MGEN Mascarenhas de Morais {The Navy operated in the South Atlantic, its duties including carrying and escorting the FEB to Gibraltar}.The first units, comprising the 6th RCT, arrived in Naples on 16 July 1944, and after a training period joined IV Corps of Mark Clark's Fifth Army. Although the Brazilian formation did not achieve full strength until early 1945, its units were in action, initially against Italian Fascist troops, from August '44. Operating on the left flank of the Allied Army Group, the Brazilian's first important task was the clearing of the Serchio valley in Tuscany where remnants of Mussolini's Italian Social Republic army were blocking this important route across the Appenines. {SPECIAL NOTES}:{EA on} None really..play them as you would the US . Regular assault will significantly favour the Allied side.
Once the Brazilians "break out", it becomes a matter of how much the South Americans can accomplish given the turns they have left.
