The Defense of Thala. (Best played against human opponent or as Axis). On the 20th February, the Afrika Korps Detachment forced its way through Kasserine Pass and then created a diversionary attack towards Tebessa. The X Panzer Division following up, launched its assault towards Thala. Beyond Thala there was no good defensive position before Le Kef, the junction of one of the British 1st Army's main supply routes from Algeria. A small British force, all that could be spared, had been despatched from Sbiba to prevent the capture of Thala. At first light on the 21st, in heavy rain that turned the dirt roads to mud, tanks of the X Panzer Division advanced on the first of three undulating ridges and a screen of American survivors from Kasserine.
