11-15 August, 1940
Tug Argan, British Somaliland: On 6 August, Italian General Nasi's main force, the "Center Column", occupied Hargesia. British delaying actions had disconcerted the Italian general enough to make him spend two days regrouping before continuing the advance along the main road toward Berbera. During those two days, the grossly outnumbered Commonwealth force, continued to fortify their blocking position astride the road at Tug Argan Pass. On the 8th, the Italians resumed their march, northeast, and began arriving before Tug Argan on the 10th, gradually untangled themselves from the single road and deployed. Four days of fierce fighting, beginning on the 11th, were to ensue and many Italian casualties were to be incurred, before the Allied troops were finally forced to withdraw to Berbera. [This scenario abreviates all four days of the fighting.]
