Large formations of panzers attacked small uncoordinated groups of French tanks and men and slowly wore down the 3rd DLM. The 2nd DLM having remained relatively unharrassed and on released some 30 Somua's and mixed cavalry to assist their neighboring 3rd. Near Crehen, reinforcement elements ran into Kampfgruppe Luttwitz which had been covering the flank of 4th Panzer until making contact with the 2nd DLM.
