Tamames 18 October 1809 - Variant scenario using the alternative pdt and gun sections. After a morning's march from Matilla, the French VIe Corps under Marchand (due to Ney's absence) encountered Del Parque's Spanish army at Tamames, an unwalled village that was strategically important as the crossroads between Ciudad Rodrigo and Salamanca and between C. Rodrigo and Bejar. Although the Spanish occupied a strong defensive position and had numerical superiority, the French were superior quality and Marchand perceived that the Spanish left flank was a weak spot. But Marchand made the mistake of splitting his forces instead of launching an attack in strength against the enemy left flank.
