Rolica 17 August 1808 - In this scenario, most of the French
force is initially fixed to represent the troops falling back
from their initial positions and to deter them from either redeploying
again or making a quick exit. The First British "battle" of the
Peninsular War, Rolica was really just a delaying action by Delaborde's
heavily outnumbered French divison to allow Junot time to assemble
his forces for the decisive battle. The British, under Wellesley
(later the Duke of Wellington), are moving south from Obidos,
while the French are waiting for them at Rolica. Will the British
attempt a direct assault on the French position or attempt an
outflanking manoeuvre? Will Delaborde hold his ground or fall
back to a stronger position? Will Loison arrive in time to reinforce
the French before Delaborde is overwhelmed or forced to beat
a hasty retreat?
