12 February 1814 - Historical - Intended for Head to Head play - This action was a follow up to the Battle of Montmirail on the previous day. Yorck covered the retreat as best he could against a very aggressive French army bent on destroying as much of the Allied force as possible. Most of the French force was composed of the Imperial Guard. The confused mass of Allies had a difficult time and Napoleon was able to capture 2700 men. The victory was hollow, however, as most of the Allied formations escaped to the right bank of the Marne and were able to fight another day. The 10th Hussars and Empress Dragoons distinguished themselves greatly in this action. Note: Allied supply wagons are worth 1 point per 10 supply points (thus 100 points is worth 10 points). French army note: Napoleon was in command of the left wing and as such was out of touch with Ney and Mortier for most of the battle. I chose to list him as a wing commander rather than overall commander as his command rating could not influence the men's status over to the east.
