31 October 1805 - Historical - The first day at Caldiero saw the French arrive in division sized groups, launch a series of uncoordinated attacks at the Austrian position and eventually get repulsed. A mutual truce was called which would expire at 1200 on the 31st so that both sides could collect their wounded. Massena regrouped his army on a line parallel with Caldierino and on the second day launched an attack on the Austrian left during the afternoon. Verdier's entire division had crossed during the morning and leaving his chasseurs to guard the bridge he launched his infantry in echelon against Nordmann's division guarding the Austrian left. Digonnet's brigade advanced on the right with Brun to his left rear. The former ran into the Grenzers and was delayed long enough for Nordmann to gather his forces for the defense. Soon the French brigade was being pressed back. Brun came up to renew the attack but in turn was repulsed with losses. After Verdier failed to pierce the Austrian lines his division withdrew to the bridge. Thus ended the battle of Caldiero. Intended for Head to Head play.
