16 April 1808 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head or Solo as the Allied player vs. the AI (see RSW-Solo.pdf for Solo play victory levels) - After the action at Yppäri the Swedish-Finnish forces fell back to Virret to make another defensive stand. Gripenberg's force had been in action for 5 hours and were short of ammunition. He fought a delaying action made up of two lines with each taking turns to keep the Russians at bay while the other fell back to the north to form a new defensive position. Finally, at Virret, the Swedes made a final stand. After beating back two Russian attacks word came that the Russians had made yet another flanking move around the Swedish right flank. While the Nyland Dragoons kept the cavalry at bay, Gripenberg had his force retreat to the north, his men being harassed the entire way by the Russian cavalry. This action depicts only the infantry action at Viiret. Note: The Swedes do not have a supply wagon to depict their low ammunition status. Many of their companies start at LOW AMMO status.
