3 July 1808 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head or Solo as the Allied player vs. the AI (see RSW-Solo.pdf for Solo play victory levels) - A Swedish force under Major Fieandt had been tasked with guarding the left flank of the advancing Swedish army as they moved south down the Finnish coast. Taking up a strong position at a key road junction, Fieandt had his men build fortifications to face the south and fell trees to guard their right flank. The Russians under Vlastov arrived in the area on the 3rd of July and he decided to assault the position. The heavy rain kept the Russian fire down to a minimum and several assaults were repulsed. Had not the Swedes made a counter attack (which resulted in them being thrown back to the fortifications) they may have held out longer. This scenario depicts one of the assaults. The Russian reserves remain fixed during this scenario. The weather will severely reduce infantry fire. Note: The rough terrain hexes (see hex 21, 31) are impassable but may be fired over. They represent the fallen timber that the Swede cut down to protect their flank (see the map tag for this area).
