14 July 1808 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head or Solo as the French player vs. the AI (see RSW-Solo.pdf for Solo play victory levels) - The Swedish army was on the move south after the Battle of Nykarleby looking to capture Lappo (Lapua) and defeat any Russian forces gathered there. They marched south and by the night of July 13th they were resting about 10 kilometers from Lappo. Resuming their march on the 14th they had their route took them through dense forest. The Russian skirmishers contested their every move and it was only by 1600 that they were able to emerge near the town. The Russian left flank was drawn up in front of Lappo. The rest of the forces were over to the east. Adlercreutz sent the 2nd Brigade (v.Döbeln) to attack the Russian left while he dispatched the 1st Brigade (Palmfelt) to try and turn the Russian right flank. A furious fight developed in front of Lappo as the Russians fought stubbornly for the position. Finally, the Russians retired in good order to the east. Meanwhile, the Russian light infantry advanced on the Swedish center and forced Aldlercreutz to deploy the 4th Brigade (Cronstadt) to hold the line. The 3rd Brigade (Gripenberg) was ordered to help the 2nd Brigade fold up the Russian line and Raevski ordered a general retreat from the area. Losses on both sides were low with the Swedish-Finnish forces losing about 160 men while the Russians lost about 200.

Great scenario. With care I think the Swedes should be able to achieve a minor win, though it's hard. There is plenty of time to infiltrate columns through forest towards big point objectives and the Swedes have to do both this and concentrate before attacking.
