28 August 1808 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head or Solo as the Allied player vs. the AI (see RSW-Solo.pdf for Solo play victory levels) - The Army of Finland was trying to hold onto their gains along the coast (right flank) but the Russians were on the move again. Following the Battle of Karstula, the army was in danger of being outflanked on their left flank. Ushakov's Russians were ordered to apply pressure to von Otter's forces which were defending along the Nummijäri river close to the coast. The Swedes and Finns had cut down timber along the river making it hard for the Russians to deploy their forces. An early attack by the Russians was beaten back and the fog made the resulting firefight difficult at best. Finally, von Otter massed forces on his left and attacked the Jägers, driving them back onto the main body. Once the Jägers started falling back the remainder of the Swedish force crossed at the bridge and joined in on the attack. The Russians near the bridge fell back in confusion to the south. Von Otter had won the battle but the war tide had turned and the Russians were soon to exploit the victory at Karstula.
