(HISTORICAL) GETTING STARTED- This small scenario covers only the tragic Confederate frontal assault on Battery Robinett. The fury that raged around Robinett rivalled in its brutality any of the most terrible of Civil War slaughters. At the height of the attack, Colonel William P. Rogers of the 2nd Texas Infantry was killed near the ditch fronting Robinett. Widely regarded as the best regimental commander in the army, Rogers' promotion was said to have been blocked by Jefferson Davis himself as a result of a personal grudge.
