10th January 1862 Kentucky: Col Garfield had been tasked with the removal of Confederate Brigadier General Marshall's forces from the area. They met at Middle Creek and the Rebel forces were forced back, with very light casualties. Col Garfield would later become President of the United States of America and would be assasinated like Lincoln. The situation is midday and the Union troop s are arriving. The Rebel artillery had defective ammunition and would not play an effective part in the battle.
