3 February 1807 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - Napoelon's orders to Bernadotte had been intercepted and Bennigsen knew of his plan to trap the Russian army. The Russians moved southeast to foil the trap. Meanwhile, Napoleon thought that Bennigsen would move on Guttstadt. With that in mind he ordered his army to move on Allenstein. From there he discovered that Bennigsen had moved south and was at nearby Jankowo. Napoleon ordered Soult and Davout to move north and turn the left flank of the Russian army. Soult's orders were for him to strike at Bergfried, capture the bridge and cross the Alle River and fall on Bennigsen's left flank. Meanwhile, Napoleon with about five divisions, and more on the way, would pin Bennigsen in place. This scenario recreates the situation starting at 10am. Soult is on his way north. Can the French plan succeed? Players note: Much of the Russian army at Jankowo is fixed to reflect the fact that Bennigsen had no idea that his left flank was in danger of an envelopment. The Russian army gradually releases during the afternoon. Soult's flanking forces arrive as reinforcements east of Bergfried to save on the French player moving the forces for a long distance during the game.
