8 February 1807 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - This scenario depicts the attack of L'Estocq's Prussians against Davout's III Corps late in the afternoon of the battle. After having eluded Ney's VI Corps, the Prussians marched to the battlefield little knowing that they would play a major part in the battle. Once they reached Althof, L'Estocq was hounded by various Russian commanders to intervene on their behalf. Wisely disregarding their call for help, and further reducing his force with detachments, he instead had word sent directly to Bennigsen. The Russian army commander ordered L'Estocq to march around the rear of the army and attack Davout's men. After making their march they setup for their attack at 4pm. For the next three hours they would keep up the pressure on Davout's III Corps and cause them to lose almost all of the ground that they had gained during the battle. The arrival of Ney's VI Corps caused Bennigsen to break off any further pursuit and by 7pm the battle had degenerated into night attacks of no lasting value. Note: Night falls at 5pm so this will be considered a night action.
