10 June 1807 - Variant - Intended to be played Head to Head - In this version of the battle of Davout's III Corps and elements of Ney's VI Corps will make an attack on the southern (left) flank of the Russian line. This will cause the Allied player to be unable to shift as many troops to the north as happened historically. It also will make for a more balanced situation. Had the French attacked on both fronts Bennigsen would have been hard pressed to hold his position at Heilsberg. Davout's III Corps begin the battle arriving in the southwest while Ney's VI Corps will not arrive until 4 PM. Note: there are fewer abatis hexes in this version of the battle.
