21 October 1813 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - Napoleon sent Bertrand to destroy the Kosen bridge as to deny its use to the Allies. Striking out south towards the town on the left bank his advance guard advanced through the fog and found that the Austrians had sent an advanced guard into the town. Quickly they were pushed out and beyond the town but more Austrians arrived and the action was stiff for the next several hours. The French eventually lost the right bank and despite having good artillery cover were pressed back from the heights which overlooked the town and the bridge. The Allies had won an important action and Napoleon's forces would get no rest while they retreated from Leipzig.
