29 August 1813 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - This scenario depicts the destruction of Pathod's 17th Division of the V Corps a few days after the Battle of the Katzbach. Pathod was tasked with guarding the right flank and his orders were to advance on Jauer. Even after the battle was days over Pathod was still attempting to follow orders rather than military reason. For whatever reason and having been isolated from the rest of the army by the advance of Yorck, Puthod continued to linger on the right bank of the Bober. Langeron's forces came up and cut him off from Löwenberg and the general decided to make his last stand on the Plagwitz Heights. The action was short and bloody. A full 4,000 were taken prisoner. Another of Napoleon's generals had allowed himself to get trapped against a river and see his command destroyed. For Puthod his capture kept him from fighting again in the remaining battles prior to Napoleon's capitulation. Note: Historically, Puthod's men escaped by swimming the river. Rather than waste the player's time with the "end game" situation this scenario only depicts the attack on Puthod's position. Assume that whatever is left of the French force at the end of the scenario makes a run for it and about half of the force either drowns or is captured trying to escape while the rest swim the Bober to freedom.
