17 September 1813 - Historical - Intended for Head to Head play - Important: Uses 15 Minute Turns - During September the Allies jockeyed for position against Napoleon with them continuing to avoid combat with the French Emperor. The French I and the 42nd Division of the XIV Corps along with the Guard advanced on the Army of Bohemia south of Dresden and found them near Kulm. The battle was joined during the afternoon with the French pressing them from the Telnitz area south only to find the entire Allied army arrayed against them. As at Kulm three weeks earlier the French were going to have to advance out of a narrow gorge area to engage the Allies. With the numbers on their side the Allies were able to press the French back after some hard fighting but darkness and a heavy storm brough an end to the engagement. The French fell back on Peterswald. The offensive had gained nothing but more losses for Napoleon's army.
