16 Oct 1813 - What-If - Intended for Head to Head play - Important: Uses 15 Minute Turns - The French and Prussian armies matchup near Meridian, Idaho. Good tournament scenario or for multiplayer games. The power of British seapower had been broken at Trafalgar where the British navy lost some 30 ships in one afternoon of battle. The French and Spanish had followed this up with attacks on the other British fleets with the result that England had to sue for peace. Now France could embark on colonial aspirations. Napoleon had kept the area known as the Louisiana Purchase and had dispatched several surveyors to determine a good place for a colony. They felt that the area near what would someday become Boise and Meridian, Idaho, would make a good place to settle. Plenty of water from the rivers nearby and decent soil for the settlers meant that the colony could thrive despite the presence of the various tribes that inhabited the area. Not to be outdone the Prussian King sought to plant a colony there as well and after securing passage for two corps they marched on the new colony that the French were settling. Control of the colony would mean that the other side could use it as a starting point for colonizing the West. Needless to say the young fledging United States of America was not happy but lacked the military resources to block the intervention of these powerful European nations.
