003. Rearguard Action at Voltri - WDS Campaign Marengo

10 April 1796 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - The French army was pressing on to Genoa along the Ligurian coast and Cervoni's advance guard division was near Voltri when two columns of Austrians attacked their positions. A sharp action was fought at both Pelgi and Mene with the French having to fall back in face of superior numbers by the end of the day. Cervoni extracted his men out of a trap and with more French forces from Massena's division arriving on the 11th it was the Austrians who would have to withrdraw setting the stage for the action on the 12th inland at Montenotte. Player Note: Supply Wagons are worth 1 VP for 1 Supply point. There were supplies (flour and other goods) that the Austrians captured that helped them out after the action. As both sides may capture and recapture the supply wagon unit there will be an uncertain amount of points for the Austrians to end up having at the end of the scenario.
