16 April 1796 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - Augereau advanced on Ceva from the east after he had secured the castle at Cosseria. He was to make a junction with Serurier near Ceva and capture the town and fortress if possible. Holding the fortress and ridge were forces of the Kingdom of Sardinia under FML Colli-Marchi. His men had built a fortified line that run northeast from Ceva all the way up to La Pedaggera. His forces were spread out along and behind this line. Colli, himself, was not present at the battle having gone to Mondovi to ensure that his lines were not going to be outflanked. The French, under Augereau, were formed up into three columns and made an early morning probing attack on the fortifications. They were repulsed by the Allies rather easily.
