019. The First Clash at Lonato - WDS Campaign Marengo

31 July 1796 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - Quosdonovich's I Kolonne had advanced in accordance with the Austrian plan of cutting off Bonaparte's army from Milan. Now his force turned towards meeting up with Wurmser's forces as they advanced from Mantua. The first of the actions took place at Lonato as Ott's brigade ran into Despinoy's division. The initial assault forced the 5th Demi-Brigade to fall back from the town onto the remainder of the division which then counter attacked and drove Ott out of Lonato.
