22 November 1796 - Variant - Intended to be played Head to Head - After the Battle of Arcole, Bonaparte turned his attention on Davidovich who had pushed Joubert out of the Rivoli area and was pressing south against Vaubois. Marching to reinforce Vaubois who had retreated to Peschiera, he found Davidovich's forces to the southwest of Rivoli. The French superior numbers caused the Austrians to retreat. The action was more of a rearguard action. What if Davidovich had been reinforced by some of Alvinczy's forces prior to the start of the campaign? The goal of the Allied player will be to delay the French forces as long as possible before retreating off the map without allowing the French to gain points for exiting the map at the VP locations.
