After crossing the upper Rapidan and capturing Gordonsville, Grant, Meade, and the Army of the Potomac have relentlessly driven Lee's army before them -- through Louisa Courthouse and now to the gates of Richmond. Grant believes that a quick, massive assault should be attempted to break through the Confederate's daunting defensive works before the Rebels have the time to make them unassailable. He orders a pre-dawn assault. Can the Army of the Potomac successfully storm the Confederate Capital?
