Crane Creek (Feb. 14, 1862) Federal General Samuel Curtis's army has been pursuing Price from Springfield and is now arriving from the north on the Telegraph Road. The cavalry is already bombarding the State Guard camps. Price's army has been caught in the middle of withdrawing from Crane Creek to McDowell. The trains and the Missouri Confederate division have already left the area. The division has been recalled but may not arrive for some time. For now, the State Guard is alone.
