By the 17th of June, the Union have already squandered several opportunities to capture Petersburg and with it, Richmond. But due to many missteps by both Grant and his subordinates, Petersburg was still in Confederate hands. So now it was Potter's turn, the Ninth's Corps division chosen by Burnside to lead a dawn attack against Johnson weakened, overly thinned and tired division. Leading the charge was a capable Union brigade commanded by Brig, Gen, Simon Griffin, and supported by Col. John Curtain's brigade. Though tired from marching and fighting on the 16th, they were tasked with the vanguard position of punching through the Confederates, and by days end, the capture of Petersburg. In this scenario, and as the defender, you must hold your ground and wait for additional troops to push back the bluecoats. As the Union, push as deeply as you can and hold your newly won territory. Note: The first two turns are one hex visibility turns. Stay in column formation during this turns or you will become disrupted. The rebels have pushed out of the Dimmock Line fortifications and are waiting on the other side of Harrison's Creek north of Battery 15.
