(W stands for Weather data is used) In an effort to bring the siege of Petersburg to a final conclusion, Grant gave orders to Meade to attack both the left and right flanks of Lee's fortifications. After all, the Confederates were outnumbered 2-1 and could not be expected to defend everywhere at the same time. As part of this double pincer attack, Meade ordered elements of the V and IX Corps to attack the Boydton Plank Road by way of Poplar Spring Church and tuning northwest. On the 30th of September, the Confederate position at Fort Archer was overrun. Lee, sensing the threat, ordered the divisions Heth, Wilcox, and WHF Lee's cavalry to stop this Union attack and turn it back from whence it came. Now it's your turn, take charge of your army and put the enemy in full retreat, or you can finally overrun the rebel defenses.
