(What If) This scenario represents the battle that never was, the last battle line of the Confederacy. General Longstreat, commanding Lee's rear guard, was preparing to receive the Union attack, when at nearly the last moment, a temporary truce was declared. Here, we will assume that there was no truce and Lee had begun his breakout plan to continue his retreat from Appomattax Court House in the hopes of joining Joseph Johnson's army in North Carolina. Facing Longtreet will be the Union's II Corps commanded by Maj. Gen. Andrew A. Humphreys. These two forces are nearly equal in size, but following Humphreys, will be Wright's VI Corps. Will this be the last day of the war for Lee's Army of Northern Virginia, or will a Confederate victory mean that the war will continue? Note: There is a Union exit hex located at hex (3,49). To gain points, occupy the hex then press Ctrl+X. This will remove your units from the map, and points will be gained as a result.
