(W stands for Weather data is used) NOTE: This scenario breaks down the Union cavalry regiments into two squadrons each. Appomattox Court House, the final battle of the American Civil War, has finally come. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia is almost entirely spent. Near to starvation, and exhaustion, these few remnants of what was once perhaps the finest army in all the world of the 1860's, must either win a miraculous victory, or finally succumb to defeat and final surrender. Lee has entrusted this final battle to the tactical command of John Gordon and his Confederate 2nd Corps. Opposing Gordon was Grant's master of cavalry, Phil Sheridan, and Charles Griffin, commanding the Army of the Potomac's 5th Corps. At this time, Gordon believed that only a screen of cavalry was keeping him pinned near the small town of Appomattox Court House. If he could break through before the Union infantry arrived, the Confederate army may yet escape destruction.
