(Historical) After crossing back into Virginia, on the 14th of July, the Confederates regrouped and were determined to continue their original mission of defending the Shenandoah Valley, and drawing as many Union troops away from their siege of Petersburg. In pursuit of the Confederates, an advance force of Union cavalry, and artillery spotted a column of Confederate wagons near Heaton's Crossroads, and attacked. While trying to return with their spoils, this Union attack force was counter-attacked, and forced to abandon their spoils and flee to safety. Pick your side, and remember to duck. Note: The counter-attacking rebels are at a reduced strength due to their haste to confront the Federal cavalry before the wagon could be captured. The rebel wagons will be released on turn two.
