(Historical) On the morning of August 29th, Union cav commander, Wesley Merritt, ordered his cavalry across the Opequon to reconnoiter. After crossing the Opequon Creek at Smithfield, Merrit's cavalry soon encounter Confederate General Jubal Early's infantry. Early then pushed back Merritt's Union cavalry division, but was soon after counter-attacked, ending the battle. But perhaps, your battle will be more conclusive.
