(Historical) Outnumbered by the Union Army commanded by General Sheridan, Confederate General Jubal Early positioned his army in a more defensible location, Strasburg. Despite this strongly defended position, Sheridan attacked, hoping to destroy Early's army and return to Petersburg to help end the siege and war defeating Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia.
