Scenario Briefing: Just seven months earlier, King Baldwin II had won a great victory at Azaz. With this victory, the King felt emboldened to expand his territory and lay siege to Damascus. A victory there would make the Kingdom of Jerusalem all but invincible for many decades to come. Therefore, the order was given, assemble the army and march on Damascus. To accomplish this feat, King Baldwin II assembled an army of mounted knights and infantry men-at-arms. The total number came to about 7,000. To resist this invasion, Toghtekin of Damascus gathered over 10,000 mounted archers, spearman and assorted infantry. The two armies would meet 30 kilometers south of Damascus, at a point called Marj al-Saffar.

Note: Expect weather complications. Mother nature can often be unpredictable.
