Date: July 19th, 1147 - Size: Medium - Location: City of Bosra
Crusade: Not a part of the 2nd Crusade, but fought during same time period.
Scenario Briefing: In the summer of 1147, the Emir of Bosra, Altuntash felt he had been insulted by Mu'in ad-Din Unur, ruler of Damascus. As a consequence, Altuntash vowed revenge and decided to ally himself with the arch enemy of the Seljuks, the Crusader state now referred to as the Kingdom of Jerusalem. As part of his pledge to its king, King Baldwin III, the Emir promised to hand over his city.
Shortly after this pledge to King Baldwin, Mu'in ad-Din Unur led an army 11,000 Seljuk Turks to seize Bosra before Baldwin could take the city. The race was close, but Mu'in ad-Din Unur arrived in time and the gates were opened with the Emir falling prostrate and vowing to fight off the Crusaders. It is rumored that the Emir's wife played no small part in this sudden turnaround.
In this scenario, the Crusaders must decide to fight or retreat. If the answer is to retreat, Mu'in ad-Din Unur will certainly win. To defeat this Seljuk warlord, the Crusaders must attempt to hold their ground until nightfall. And during this time, inflict more damage on the Turks than they take.
If the opportunity presents itself; King Baldwin has brought some siege equipment that could potentially take the city.
Recommended Rules: [Default]
Intended to be played as the Crusader Alliance against the Islamic Alliance A/I or Head-to Head.
