(Alternative 20 minute turns) Olustee--or Ocean Pond--Florida Union forces under Br Gen Seymour advanced west from Jacksonville towards the state capital at Tallahassee. Confederate forces, commanded by Gen. Finnegan opposed the Union movement. The armies collided near Olustee Station and engaged in a fierce contest that resulted in some of the highest casualty rates of the war, the Federals losing 34% of the forces engaged while the Confederates lost 18%.
