(Historical 20 minute turns) March 19th saw intensive combat between the concentrated Confederate army and the left wing of Sherman's Army of the South. It was an ambush which the Yankees barely withstood. When Sherman became aware that Johnston's army was going to stand and fight, he ordered his right wing to change direction and aimed it directly at the Confederate rear. While the armies on the ground regrouped, Sherman's right wing comes on the scene from the east.
